The Chamois Trail

“Le Sentier des Chamois” (The Chamois Path) is the ideal hike to get close to the local fauna, including chamois, ibex, marmots and golden eagles that populate the nature reserve of the Upper Valley of Bagnes.

The path winds across both mountainous terrain and green fields, then after a few vertiginous passages (not for those with a fear of heights), arrive at the Col Termin, gateway to the kingdom of the ibex with a magnificent
view of the surrounding mountains.
Stop for a picnic with a panoramic view of the Combins.
Afterwards, follow the footpath down to the magnificent lake and the Louvie cabin. Refuel at the cabin,

for those who don’t wish to spend the night at 2250m above sea level, continue on the footpath that winds around the
mountain, bringing you to the village of Fionnay, where your driver awaits you.

Option for 2 days

Upon arrival at the cabin, enjoy the sun on the terrace, wander around the lake, or try fishing (to be organized in advance).

Take in some of nature’s finest moments, relax and abandon yourself to the beauty and serenity of the sunset. For a night, share the dinner table, sleeping quarters, a passion for the mountain, the day’s adventures and perhaps even a bottle of wine – but at 10 pm, lights out, and let your dreams wander along alpine paths…

The next morning, we’ll hike back up in the direction of “le Bec d’Aigle”, situated at 2567m. A steep footpath leads back into Fionnay.
